Sheepish return to blog...

Okay, so apparently I'm not any better at keeping up a blog than I am at writing in a diary...oops. Good thing I don't have any serious blog followers, or they would have died of boredom waiting for me to post (or else given me a smackdown for not posting).

Anyway, so what's up in my life? Well, nothing, now. Jared & his family visited from Texas over the holidays, and that was a lot of fun, not to mention allowing me to get a desperately needed "kid fix". I think my favorite part was watching Isaac, who's turned from a precociously crawly 8-month-old into a precociously toddling 14-month-old, zip around my parents' house. I don't have any pix (as I have yet to join the digital camera age), so you'll just have to imagine it.

It's also snowed a lot over the past few weeks, and I am sick of it. (See my October rant about sharing the road with idiot drivers for details, in case you've forgotten just why I dislike snow so much. It's pretty, but too dangerous for the typical driver.) I'm ready for spring to show up, although that's unlikely for a while yet, as it's still January. Bummer...

Wintry Weather

So, it snowed this weekend, and I actually had to scrape frost off of my windows yesterday & today, and I AM NOT HAPPY about it--mostly because winter weather means a) having to take the time to clear off my car every morning, and b) sharing the road with a bunch of people who don't know how to drive in bad weather.

Bad weather drivers tend to fall into one of two groups:

First, you have the wimps, who are so afraid of a little snow that they creep along at 20 under the speed limit, even when the roads are dry. Nightmares to be stuck behind--especially when you're running late. Get out of the left lane, please!!

Then, you have the tuff guys, who have 4-wheel drive and insist on driving 20 over the speed limit, even when the roads are solid sheet ice. "Oh, I have an SUV, I can drive like a maniac!" So aggravating--especially when they ride your bumper. Um, I'm in the right lane for a reason, buddy--get off my tail!

Of course, I'm not in either of these groups. :)

Alright, already! After much pressure from many sources to create a blog ("It's lots of fun!" "Everyone's doing it!" "Haven't you started one yet???"), I have given in.
